It’s that time of year again — the decorations are coming down, your holiday spirit is waning, and those New Year’s resolutions you made last January (but never accomplished) have unexpectedly resurfaced. Whoops. Did you ever get around to taking that
vacation? Probably not. The same way you never got around to cleaning out your closet or volunteering at the soup kitchen. And what about those fitness resolutions?
Let’s face it, resolutions are hard to keep. Come March, most people tend to give up or forget all about them (after two months of guiltily ignoring them). But what if we could kick- start those goals? What if we could make them happen before your motivation makes its great escape? Well, come January 11th, that dream will become a reality! You will have the opportunity to participate in a 60-day challenge to improve your lifestyle. This isn’t just another fitness boot camp designed to help you lose weight in the New Year — it’s a lifestyle makeover. We focus on fitness, nutrition, healthy habits (like sleeping – who doesn’t want more of that?!), vitamins, and proper body care. By the end of the two-month challenge, you’ll look better, you’ll feel better, and you’ll be committed to maintaining your new, healthy lifestyle throughout the New Year (we’re talking 2015 — and beyond!).
As with any resolution, it’s not going to be easy (that’s why we put them off until the New Year), but you don’t have to do it alone. In my experience, families that work out together are more likely to continue down the path of fitness than those who work out alone. When the whole family is on board, you’ll be more likely to stick to it. That’s why you and your entire family (brothers, sisters, moms, dads, distant cousins, friends, and acquaintances), members or not, are welcome to join in on the fun. Because it will be fun.
I’m not one to host a health challenge without also hosting a few parties in between. And two months can feel like a long time when you’re making big changes. Which is why we’ll be throwing a few fun events and get-togethers at the “lets do this thing!” point, the halfway point, and the “almost there” point. I can’t say for sure, but you can probably expect a DJ, prizes, and mini challenges for you and your team.
That’s right, I said it, team. Last year’s lifestyle challenge was more individualized (which means less fun, and more stressful). We’ve made some changes to ensure that this year’s challenge is super successful and a total blast. Track your team’s progress online and compare yourself to challengers like you across the globe. This isn’t a resolution — this isn’t something you can give up on or sweep under the rug when the going gets hard. It’s a commitment. A commitment to leading a healthier, happier lifestyle – this year, next year, and the year after that. Come on, CFI! Let’s recommit to the New Year.
